Born and raised in Dallas, Texas to Cajun and German ancestry, James started acting when he was asked to play the title character in his middle school’s production of Tom Sawyer. After the play’s run, his teacher suggested he attend a summer camp for young thespians. When the camp was complete, one of the directors asked James to audition for his production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Dallas Children’s Theater.
James subsequently landed the role of Mike TV and began his professional career at the age of twelve. James went on to perform in many of DCT’s productions until high school when he went on to pursue other interests such as flying, sports, and solar car racing.
Ultimately James found himself back in the drama department and upon graduating high school he decided to push toward furthering his career with all his efforts. James attended Collin County Community College whose theater credits transfer to most well respected theater schools. During this time he signed with his agent and began work as a professional in the southern region.
He then transferred to Southern Methodist University, staying in Dallas to continue building the professional relationships he had established. He chose to study Cinema-Television. Originally this choice was so he could get a better grasp of the business as a whole. However, James soon discovered a love for work behind the camera as well.
During his time at SMU James worked on numerous films behind the camera as well as landing a lead in an independent feature and casting another one, both going to festivals and obtaining distribution deals. In his senior year James had a Co-Starring role in FOX’s “The Good Guys,” a supporting role in James Gunn’s “Super” with Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page, and the lead in the History Channel special “I Am Alive” which was submitted for nomination in seven categories to the 2011 Emmy’s.
James currently resides in Los Angeles studying at the Playhouse West repertory theater where actors such as James Franco and Scott Caan have called home. He continues to work on a slate of projects when he’s not in front of a lens.
